Interested in adopting or becoming a foster? Young or senior, these are the dogs we feel would most benefit from a quieter and more private home environment. These lovable dogs below are just some of the adoptable dogs at Miko’s Sanctuary.

Niko is a Miniature Pinscher / Chihuahua mix and is approximately 10 yrs old. She arrived needing to be spayed and with very small mammary tumors. The tumors have been removed and we were thrilled that pathology reported that all were benign. Sadly, during her surgery, a needle was discovered inside of her. After two professional opinions, it was decided to leave it there. Annual x-rays are recommended to make sure the needle has not moved. She doesn't show any signs of pain from it. She also had a dental in April. Niko has come a long way and is now in need of a family that will accept her for who she is. She is now spayed, chipped, and up to date on vaccines. She will need a home with a fenced yard. Niko listens very well - except for when she sees a squirrel or rabbits. Then it’s game on and no holding her back!
Adoption fee $300.

Jenny is believed to be 18 but you would never guess that meeting her. She is a carefree little Jack Russell who was recently surrendered at a local pet store. She is understandably confused, but does well with the other dogs. To be an only dog your entire life, and then to suddenly find yourself in a strange house with 18 other dogs can be overwhelming. Other than food aggression towards other dogs, we’ve only seen a lonely little girl who wants to be loved. Although she desperately needs a dental and has signs of arthritis indicative to her age, she is otherwise healthy. We will schedule a dental for her once we’ve collected enough donations to cover it.

Chevy is a 3 lb apple-head chihuahua. When he first arrived at Miko’s Sanctuary, he had a tumor on his face which has been removed and is healing nicely. He has a follow up appointment in October 2025. He was also emaciated, but is gaining weight back nicely. This little guy might take a bit to come out of his shell and develop trust.
Chevy does well with the other dogs at the sanctuary and is estimated to be 12 years old
Adoption fee is $300

Martin is a 14 year old Yorkie. When he came to us, he had been covered in used motor oil. His skin is on the mend and fur is starting to grow back. Despite all he has been through, he is a very loving dog and good with the other dogs at the sanctuary.
He is neutered and up to date on vaccines.
Adoption fee is $300.

Shamas and Sophie are a bonded pair. Watching these two is an amazing example of just how wonderful dogs are. Shamas is blind and Sophie serves as his guide. Believed to be in their teens, they are both relatively healthy for their age. A slight heart murmur was picked up on Shamus that does not require medications at this time, but other than that, no major health issues found.
The adoption fee is $300.

Suzie is a gentle little girl who arrived at Miko’s Sanctuary in 2022 with slight neurological issues. She occasionally walks in circles and because she is not slightly bothered by it, we won’t be either. She was adopted rather quickly two years ago, and was returned recently to us when her family went through a divorce. No rescue likes to see this, because it only adds to the dogs confusion. Because of her previous return, we will be selective when screening applications. Although she’s not playful, she gets along with other dogs as long as they respect her space.
We believe she is approximately 10 - 12, and weighs 20 pounds. She is spayed, chipped, and up to date on vaccines.
Her adoption fee is $300.
